San Rocco Patronal Feast

The 2025 edition of the San Rocco Feast in Scordia renewed the patronal tradition in the historic center of the town. The days of August 15 and 16 were the heart of the celebrations: after the preparatory novena, the vigil saw the procession of the relic of San Rocco under a canopy, while on the feast day, the sung mass, the panegyric, and the procession of the silver statue involved the entire community.

The traditional elements of the popular feast were all present: the marching band along the main street, the illuminations in the historic center, blank shots, and the fireworks at midnight that greeted the return of the statue to the church. The octave on August 23rd concluded the festivities, confirming San Rocco as the cornerstone of Scordia's religious and civic identity.
