San Rocco Festival and 'San Rocco's Best Friend' Contest

San Rocco Festival 2025

On August 16, 2025, Niella Tanaro celebrated Saint Roch with a day entirely dedicated to our four-legged friends. The meeting point was set between 9:00 and 9:30 AM at the sports field parking lot, from which a walk of about 7 km began through the hills and local hamlets.

Around 12:00 PM, participants arrived at the San Rocco Chapel for the blessing of the dogs; at 1:00 PM, a picnic lunch was held in Piazza Giondo Oreste, followed by a visit to the castle. At 2:30 PM, the awards ceremony for the 'San Rocco's Best Friend' contest took place, followed by Occitan dances by the Descarpentats group at 4:30 PM, Holy Mass with blessing and distribution of San Rocco bread at 6:30 PM, and a cultural evening at the castle park at 9:00 PM dedicated to 'The Battle of Bicocca'. The free festival was organized by the Associazione San Rocco N.T.
