San Mauro Castelverde Carnival

The 2025 edition of the San Mauro Castelverde Carnival confirmed the vitality of this popular tradition in the Madonie village. The Municipality of San Mauro Castelverde, in the province of Palermo, promoted the parade of allegorical floats and masquerade groups through the town's streets, inviting citizens to participate and register their own groups.

The event was part of the wider Madonie Carnival 2025, which involved numerous towns in the district — from Pollina to Castelbuono, from Castellana Sicula to Petralia Sottana — with a busy schedule of parades between late February and early March. In San Mauro Castelverde, the festival concluded with the traditional "du nannu carrivali" performance, marking the end of the carnival period amidst confetti, colors, and smiles.
