San Martino Race

The 27th edition of the San Martino Race enlivened Controguerra (Teramo) on the weekend of November 8-9, 2025, confirming its status as the most attended running event in Abruzzo with over three thousand participants expected among athletes and walkers.

The 14.9 km competitive race, starting at 9:30 AM on Sunday from Piazza del Commercio, crossed the Val Vibrata vineyards, passing through Torano Nuovo and Nereto, with the challenging final climb of about 800 meters. The non-competitive Mangialonga Run also took place, covering 5 and 8 km distances and bringing thousands of walkers through the vineyard rows. The registration fee was €15, with prizes for the top eight men, top five women, and numerous category awards. As per tradition, the Saint Martin's Festival was held on Saturday night with new wine, chestnuts, and cold cuts offered by the Pro Loco.
