San Martino Festival – The Tavern in the Square

The 2025 edition of the San Martino Festival took place in Villarosa (EN) on November 11th, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, from the afternoon until midnight. As the sun set, the square became a large open-air tavern, the traditional 'nna putìa do vinu.

The numerous food stalls offered traditional Sicilian peasant dishes — porchetta, chickpeas, fava beans, fried cudduruni, and sfingi — accompanied by the season's new wine. The event was framed by folk music, singing, traditional dances, and a parade of characteristic Sicilian carts, for a celebration that combined devotion, gastronomy, and folklore in the heart of the Enna province.
