San Luigi Fair

The village festival in Bosaro

Every year, at the end of June, Bosaro — a municipality of just over a thousand inhabitants in the Bassa Polesine, in the province of Rovigo — dresses up for the San Luigi Fair. For five days, Piazza Madonna di San Luca becomes the centre of village life, with concerts, dancing, food, and attractions for all ages.

Between music and tradition

The programme alternates musical evenings and community moments: happy hours, open dancing, bands ranging from pop-rock-soul to 1960s and 1970s covers, and tributes to the great names of Italian music. There's also the Sanpei Trophy, a fishing competition for youngsters, which draws children and teenagers along the banks of the Polesine.

Devotion and conviviality

The fair originates from devotion to Saint Aloysius Gonzaga and retains its religious soul, with a three-day prayer novena and a solemn Mass, but it is above all an occasion for the entire community to come together. The food stalls offer traditional dishes from the Polesine region, while the funfair delights the children.

A festival of volunteerism

The event is organised by the Municipality of Bosaro together with local associations — CSI Bosaro, Auser, Avis, and Asd Frigato — which every year put together five days entirely animated by local volunteers.
