San Lorenzo Festival

The 2025 edition of the San Lorenzo Festival took place on Sunday, August 10, in the village of Chianale, a hamlet of Pontechianale in the Varaita Valley (Cuneo). As per tradition, the day opened with a solemn mass in the parish church of Saints Lorenzo and Antonio and a traditional costume procession, during which the inhabitants paraded in the Occitan attire of the upper valley.

Throughout the day, the village hosted a market of local and artisanal products, while the traditional incanto auction was held in the square in the afternoon. The festival concluded with an evening of Occitan music and dances, the highlight of the patronal feast, which attracts visitors from all over the Varaita Valley every year.
