Edition 2025 — San Lazzaro Carnival

The 38th edition of the San Lazzaro Carnival in the Borgo took place on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Borgo Durbecco, Faenza. The parade on Corso Europa, led by the "Passator Tortello" float, involved over 600 masked students, flag-throwers and musicians from the Borgo Durbecco district, and allegorical floats and groups from all over Italy, including a group from Skrijevo, Croatia. The traditional Tortello di San Lazzaro was the culinary star.

The 38th edition of the San Lazzaro Carnival in the Borgo was held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Borgo Durbecco, Faenza. The day began in the morning with the "Spassigeda de turtel", a walk in the green areas of the Borgo, and the "Staffetta del Pellicano" from Ponte delle Grazie. In the afternoon, starting at 2:30 PM, the "Passator Tortello" float opened the grand parade on Corso Europa from Via De Gasperi, featuring over 600 masked students, the Under-15 flag-throwers and musicians of the Borgo Durbecco district, and allegorical floats and groups from all over Italy, including the Croatian group from Skrijevo. In Piazza Fra' Sabba, the food stand offered the famous Tortello di San Lazzaro, while rides, stalls, and exhibitions of vintage motorcycles and scooters animated the day.

Programme

Sunday, April 6, 2025 — Borgo Durbecco

  • 10:00 AM — "Spassigeda de turtel", a walk in the green areas of Borgo Durbecco.
  • 10:30 AM — "Staffetta del Pellicano" from the Ponte delle Grazie side of Corso Europa.
  • 1:30 PM — Painting and stamping activities for free postcards featuring images of the Borgo, on the service road of Corso Europa.
  • 2:30 PM — Start of the parade from Via De Gasperi with the "Passator Tortello" float; in the procession, over 600 masked students, Under-15 flag-throwers and musicians of the Borgo Durbecco district, and floats and groups from all over Italy and the Skrijevo group (Croatia).
  • All day — Rides for children, market stalls, exhibition of vintage motorcycles and scooters by the Vintage Moto Scooter Club; food stand with Tortello di San Lazzaro in Piazza Fra' Sabba.
