San Jacopo Patronal Feast and Medieval Altopascio

The 2025 edition of the patronal feast of Saint James in Altopascio (LU) confirmed the success of the Convivium. Medioevo e Ospitalità re-enactment, now in its second year. The heart of the festival beat on Friday, July 25th, from 6:00 PM to midnight, with the opening of the medieval village in Piazza Ricasoli, Piazza Garibaldi, and Piazza Ospitalieri.

Highlights included: historic workshops featuring leather, iron, ceramic, wood, and wool work, the medieval oven with a stone mill, the free distribution of pasta from the Calderon d'Altopascio organized by the Misericordia in Piazza Garibaldi, fire shows and theater by the Folet D'La Marga, historical dances by Studiorum Lucca, falconry displays with about twenty birds of prey, historical fencing, and the debut of the archery tournament. On Saturday, July 26th, the festival concluded with a conference dedicated to medieval clothing.
