San Giovenale Patronal Festival

In 2025, the San Giovenale Patronal Festival in Fossano was held from Saturday, May 3, to Monday, May 5. Saturday, May 3, opened with the distribution of the San Giovenale Bread to families in need, followed by the solemn opening with the "delivery of the keys," the procession with the reliquary to the Church of the Santissima Trinità, solemn vespers, and the election of the new rector. Sunday, May 4, was the heart of the festival: the solemn mass presided over by Bishop Piero Delbosco, with the offering of oil and the lighting of the votive lamp by the Mayor, and the great procession through Via Cavour, Piazza Castello, Viale Sacerdote, Via dell'Annunziata, and Via Roma. Monday, May 5, saw the mass for the deceased of the Company and the final celebration, while the city hosted the large San Giovenale fair, stalls, the funfair, and the exhibition of the Benefactors' Portraits along Via Roma.
