San Felice d'Ocre Chestnut Festival

In 2025, the San Felice d'Ocre Chestnut Festival reached its 37th edition, confirming its status as one of the longest-running autumn festivals in the L'Aquila Apennines. The event was held on Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26, 2025, in the hamlet of San Felice d'Ocre, in the Municipality of Ocre in the province of L'Aquila.

The indoor food stalls offered the chestnut in all its forms, from roasted chestnuts to homemade desserts, accompanied by rustic soups, cured meats, cheeses, and locally-sourced products, with menus also available for celiacs and those with lactose intolerance. The two days were enlivened by folk music, craft markets, horseback and e-bike excursions, and guided walks through the chestnut groves of Monte Ocre.
