Edition 2025 — San Diego

On the last Sunday of August 2025, Canicattì renewed its devotion to San Diego, its patron saint. The program followed the usual sequence: the popular Scuru e fuddra festival on Friday evening on Via Cesare Battisti, featuring typical products and music, the procession of the Sacred Relic on Saturday, and the procession of the statue on Sunday evening, preceded by holy masses at the Church of San Diego. A festival that every year unites faith, rural memory, and conviviality in the historic center of the Agrigento town.

The 2025 edition of the San Diego Festival took place in Canicattì (Agrigento) around the last Sunday of August, in accordance with the city's ancient tradition.

The festival weekend confirmed the well-established structure: Friday, the Scuru e fuddra festival along Via Cesare Battisti, with stalls of typical Sicilian products, tastings, and folk music; Saturday evening, the solemn procession of the Sacred Relic of San Diego; Sunday evening, the procession of the patron's statue through the streets of the center, accompanied by holy masses at the Church of San Diego. Devotion to the saint, protector of the city since the 1693 earthquake, remained the common thread of the entire event.
