Edition 2025 — San Biagio - 1693 Commemoration
The 2025 edition was part of the traditional cycle of January celebrations linked to the solemnity of the dedication of the Mother Church and the memory of the 1693 earthquake. The statue of the patron San Biagio was moved in the preceding days to the Mother Church, where the community of Comiso participated in masses and moments of prayer.
The procession of the statue passed through the streets of the center of Comiso, in the province of Ragusa, following the usual route from Via Mons. Rimmaudo to the Church of San Biagio, passing through Piazza Fonte Diana and the main city streets. In 2025, the recurrence once again renewed the centuries-old bond between the Iblean city and its protector saint, remembered for saving the population from the earthquake and the plague.
