San Bernardo Fair

The 36th edition of the San Bernardo Fair took place in Macugnaga from July 4 to 6, 2025, marking a long-awaited return after the flood that had affected the Anzasca Valley. The Alpine and Walser craft market opened to the public on Saturday morning, with the official inauguration at 3:00 PM in Piazza Municipio.

Among the highlights of the edition was the 22nd Extemporaneous Wood Carving Competition “The Old Linden Tree of Macugnaga”, with the delivery of linden logs to the sculptors on Friday afternoon. Along the village streets, the stalls offered wood and stone sculptures, ceramics, embroidery, woven baskets, wrought iron, and work tools, accompanied by conferences, musical moments, parades of Walser groups in traditional attire, and the customary religious events with Mass and procession.
