Edition 2025 — Salvuccio Percacciolo Prize
The 31st edition of the Salvuccio Percacciolo Prize School Music Festival took place in Mirto in May 2025, with competition days held at Palazzo Cupane from May 20th to 22nd and the final ceremony with awards on May 30th. About a hundred schools from across Sicily participated in the event, divided into various categories: choirs, orchestras, instrumental groups, bands, chamber music, and soloists.
Among the many honors, the Absolute First Prize with top marks went to the orchestra of the "Caponnetto-Sciascia" Comprehensive Institute of Canicattì, while the Tusa-Mistretta Comprehensive Institute won the absolute first prize in the orchestra and ensemble category with a perfect score of 100/100. The choir of the Misilmeri Comprehensive Institute was also awarded for a piece dedicated to the victims of femicide. It was an intense edition, confirming the event as a grand celebration of youth music in the Nebrodi area.
