In 2025, the 15th edition of the Salento Book Festival, "The Festival of Books, the Buzz of Readers," brought the Salento summer to life from June to September. The traveling festival, conceived and directed by journalist Gianpiero Pisanello, visited numerous municipalities in the province of Lecce, the heart of the Salento region in Puglia, with free-admission evenings in the squares and historic sites of the area.
In 2025, the festival once again offered dozens of meetings with nationally renowned authors—novelists, television journalists, essayists, and faces of Italian popular culture—who presented their latest works in direct dialogue with the public. The widespread format, capable of reaching even the smallest centers of Salento, allowed readers to connect with books in a convivial and community-oriented atmosphere, setting the stage for the 16th edition in 2026.
