Saints Valentino and Damiano Festival – Blessing of the Lovers

The 2025 edition of the Saints Valentino and Damiano Festival took place on Friday, February 14th, in San Valentino in Abruzzo Citeriore, in the province of Pescara. The central religious moment was the evening Mass in the Cathedral of Saints Valentino and Damiano, with the reading of the Transitus of the Martyr Saints and the blessing of the community with the relics of the patrons, which were displayed for the occasion.

Surrounding the celebration, the village renewed the tradition of the blessing of the lovers, accompanied by artisan markets featuring local cheeses, cured meats, and traditional sweets, as well as concerts and romantic decorations along the alleys of the historic center, in the picturesque setting of the Maiella National Park.
