The 2025 Festival of the Medical Saints in Maglie

In 2025, the devotion of Maglie to Saints Cosmas and Damian renewed its appointment in late September, with the main day on September 27. The eve, September 26, was dedicated to the traditional candlelight procession, a moment of strong popular participation that crossed the streets of the center up to the Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian in Piazza Santi Medici.

On the day of the festival, Holy Masses were held, followed by the solemn procession with the statues of the two miracle-working saints, accompanied by the confreres of the Confraternity of the Agonizing Jesus and the Medical Saints. Around the church and along the streets of the historic center, there was no shortage of craft and food stalls, the usual setting for Salento patronal festivals.
