Saints Cosmas and Damian Festival (with the Foconi)

How it went in 2025

The festivities in honor of Saints Cosmas and Damian were held in Longone Sabino from September 26th to 28th, 2025, organized by the Municipality together with the Pro Loco, festival committees, and with the participation of the Red Cross. The preparatory novena accompanied the village from September 17th to 25th.

The central moment was the evening of Friday, September 26th, with the procession of the relics towards the sanctuary and the lighting of the foconi on the heights around the village. On Saturday the 27th, the secular program featured performances by the orchestras Sole d'Italia and Il Gatto e la Volpe, a concert by the marching band, the participation of the Bersaglieri fanfare, and the traditional Pantasima dance. On Sunday, September 28th, the day concluded with commemorative celebrations dedicated to the fallen and the memory of Gold Medalist Attilio Verdirosi.
