Saint William Festival

The 2025 edition of the Saint William Festival renewed the long tradition of devotion to the patron saint in Castiglione della Pescaia (GR), the hermit-knight who, according to legend, freed the Maremma from a dragon. As per custom, the central moment was the walking pilgrimage to the Hermitage of Malavalle, the monastic complex built around the saint's tomb, with the solemn Holy Mass celebrated among the ruins of the Romanesque church. Surrounding the liturgy, the community experienced moments of sharing and conviviality that have always characterized the patronal festival of Castiglione.
