Edition 2025 — Saint Theodore – Pannuse
The 2025 edition
The festivities in honor of Saint Theodore the Martyr concluded on Sunday, August 10, 2025, the second Sunday of the month, with the traditional Dance of the Saint through the streets of Sorrentini, a village of Patti (ME). In the preceding days, the evocative Pannuse processions took place, featuring the lighting of the large ddisa torches and the dance around the fire accompanied by the brass band.
The 2025 edition combined the religious dimension with a moment of cultural exploration: popular storytelling became poetry, music, and painting thanks to the Sicilian storyteller Luigi Di Pino and the contribution of Professor Sergio Bonanzinga, an ethnomusicologist from the University of Palermo, in an event that celebrated the memory and tradition of the festival.
