Edition 2025 — Saint Simon Fair
The 895th edition of the Fiera di San Simone was held in Montecchio Emilia from Saturday, October 25 to Monday, October 27, 2025. The official inauguration took place on Saturday morning at 10:30 AM in the courtyard of the medieval Castle, with a speech by Mayor Fausto Torelli, the recitation of the traditional Sansimonata, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
For the occasion, the mayors of the other three Italian municipalities called "Montecchio" (Terni, Precalcino, and Maggiore) were present, as part of a cultural twinning, and the "Montecchio ad Arte" awards were presented to individuals and entities from the region. The medieval Castle was open for visits from 10 AM to 7 PM with guided tours at 3 PM, 4:30 PM, and 6 PM, while the funfair operated from October 24 to 28. On Sunday, the "Robì Veci" antiques market and the re-enactment of the display of the first Tricolore of the Cispadane Republic of 1796 were held.
