The festival in 2025
The 2025 edition of the Saint Sebastian Festival in Ponzano Romano, in the Metropolitan City of Rome, respected the double appointment that has characterized the cult of the patron saint for centuries: the celebration on January 20th, the anniversary of the martyrdom, and that of the first Sunday of June, dedicated to the anniversary of the consecration of the abbey of Sant'Andrea in Flumine.
The heart of the festivities on this occasion was also the procession through the village streets, led by the Confraternity of Saint Sebastian and characterized by great popular participation. The faithful renewed the ritual of the offering of gifts, carrying bundles of candles tied with brightly colored ribbons as a sign of devotion and gratitude.
