2025 Festa ranni in Mistretta

The August 2025 Saint Sebastian Festival was celebrated in Mistretta, in the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina, on August 19th. The procession departed at 7:15 PM with the exit of the varetta and the float from the Church of Saint Sebastian, following the traditional route through the narrow streets of the historic center.

The highlight was the vutata of Saint Vincent, greeted by the crowd's enthusiasm, followed by the final run and the shoulder-swapping before returning to the church, amidst cries of «Viva San Sebastiano!». During the homily, Archpriest Monsignor Michele Giordano called on the faithful to follow the Saint's example in daily life and to cultivate community unity. The live broadcast by Telemistretta allowed even distant Mistrettesi to follow the festival, with excellent viewership and broad participation on social media.
