Edition 2025 — Saint Rosalia in Quisquina
The 2025 edition of the Saint Rosalia Festival was held in Santo Stefano Quisquina, in the Sicani Mountains in the province of Agrigento, from May 31 to June 4, around the first Sunday of the month. As per tradition, the festivities kicked off with the Scinnuta of the Silver Bust in the Mother Church, followed by Holy Masses in the districts, evening processions, and the solemn horseback ride with pilgrimage to the Quisquina Hermitage, where young Rosalia lived as a hermit.
The pilgrimage departed at dawn from the Mother Church with the precious Silver Bust, accompanied by the marching band and the traditional equestrian parade, with a prayer stop at the Rocca, the recitation of the Rosary, and the distribution of bread, eggs, and water to the faithful—some of whom walked barefoot—until the mass at the sanctuary. The 2025 edition had special significance: it marked the 4th centenary of the arrival of the relics and the Silver Bust in the village, donated by the Archbishop of Palermo on September 25, 1625, and for this reason, the celebrations were ideally extended until September with events dedicated to the memory of that foundational event for the devotion of Santo Stefano.
