Edition 2025 — Saint Peter Festival

In 2025, the San Pietro district of Mottola once again celebrated the Saint Peter Festival, with Mass and a procession led by the Bishop of Castellaneta, performances by the Motl la Fnodd Folk Group, food stalls, and fireworks. A late June weekend of faith and folklore for the entire Mottola community.

The 2025 edition of the Saint Peter Festival renewed the appointment in Mottola for the San Pietro district celebration, in honor of Saint Peter the Apostle. As per tradition, the program alternated between the religious aspect—with the solemn Eucharistic celebration and the procession through the district streets, accompanied by a brass band—and popular evening events.

The folkloric heart of the event was once again the Motl la Fnodd Folk Group, with its songs and costumed dances that bring to life the pizzica, quadrille, and tarantella of the Mottola tradition. Along Via San Paolo and Via Gerloni, food stalls and craft booths accompanied the days, concluding with a fireworks display. Admission, as always, was free.
