Ireland in the Marche: Celtic music, beer, and folk in the only Italian Municipality dedicated to Ireland's patron saint
There is only one Municipality in Italy that bears the name of Ireland's patron saint, and it is precisely Torre San Patrizio, a small village in the province of Fermo, in the Marche region. There could not be a more suitable place to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day, the greenest holiday of the year: every March the town transforms and for a few days breathes the atmosphere of Irish pubs and countryside, amidst Celtic music, dances, excellent beers, and contagious cheerfulness.
The event is conceived and organized by the Pro Loco of Torre San Patrizio, which over the years has managed to grow a neighborhood event into an anticipated occasion for lovers of Celtic and folk rock music from all over central Italy. The festival enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Torre San Patrizio, the Marche Region, and the Embassy of Ireland in Italy, a recognition that testifies to the authentic bond between the Marche village and the Emerald Isle.
The heart of the event is the Parochial Field of Via Oliva, where a large covered and heated structure of about 1000 sqm is set up: thus, the festival takes place sheltered from the still harsh March weather. Every evening, Celtic and folk rock bands take the stage, while the food stalls offer typical dishes and draft beers such as Guinness, O'Hara's, and Harp. The kitchen opens every evening and, on Sundays, also for lunch.
Alongside the concerts, the festival offers initiatives for everyone. The themed green photo contest invites participants to sport at least two green elements in their outfit and compete for prizes for the largest group and the most original costume. Sunday is dedicated to families with Saint Patrick's Kids, featuring workshops, games, and entertainment for the little ones, while the village lights up in green on its historic buildings and monuments. There are also dialect theater performances and festive moments that involve the entire community.
Saint Patrick's Day in Torre San Patrizio is the perfect excuse to discover an authentic Marche village off the beaten tourist track, amidst hills, dialect, and traditions. Admission to the evenings is free, and on some days, a free shuttle bus service is available to conveniently reach the festival area.
The 8th edition of Saint Patrick's Day was held in Torre San Patrizio from March 12 to 17, 2026, under the 1000 sqm covered and heated structure set up at the Parochial Field of Via Oliva by the Pro Loco. The music program featured a mix of Celtic and folk rock bands for almost the entire week, accompanied by food stalls open every evening from 7:30 PM and, on Sundays, also for lunch from 1:00 PM.
The festival's most popular events were confirmed: the photo contest Fifty Shades of Green (March 12-15), Saint Patrick's Kids dedicated to families on Sunday, and the grand finale on March 17 with dialect theater with free admission. A free shuttle bus connected the festival area on March 13 and 14.
