Saint Nicholas Visit and Krampus Show in Monguelfo

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition took place in Monguelfo (Welsberg), Puster Valley, on December 5th and 6th. Friday, December 5th at 5:00 PM, the Krampus procession traveled through the town center, amidst torches, wooden masks, and cowbells. Saturday, December 6th, around 5:30 PM, Saint Nicholas personally greeted children in the main square with a small surprise; the area remained free of Krampus until 6:00 PM, before the village transformed back into a dark stage.

At 7:00 PM, the spectacular Krampus show began, during which various groups showcased their terrifying skills before the public. Admission was free, and the event, organized by the Val Casies-Monguelfo-Tesido Tourist Association, confirmed the importance of this South Tyrolean early Advent tradition.
