Saint Michael the Archangel Patronal Festival

The 2025 edition of the Saint Michael the Archangel Patronal Festival in Orsara di Puglia took place over three days, from September 29th to October 1st. On September 29th, the most important day of the celebrations, masses in the grotto dedicated to the Archangel were held starting at 6:00 AM; in the afternoon, at 6:00 PM, the solemn procession began with the statue carried on shoulders through the village streets, amidst prayers, hymns, and the symbols of Saint Michael.

Alongside the religious rites, there were civil events: the brass band, firecracker displays, and illuminations that lit up the historic center. The three days of festivities concluded on Saturday, October 1st, with a free concert by the duo Audio 2 in Largo San Michele, followed by fireworks. A well-attended edition that confirmed the strong bond of the Monti Dauni community with its patron saint.

Monday, September 29th — Patronal Day

• From 06:00 AM — Holy masses in the Grotto of Saint Michael
• Morning — Brass band concert in the square
• 06:00 PM — Solemn procession with the wooden statue through the village streets
• Evening — Musical performances, fireworks, and illuminations

Wednesday, October 1st — Closing

• Largo San Michele — Free concert by Audio 2
• Followed by — Fireworks display
