Edition 2025 — Saint Michael the Archangel

The 2025 edition of the Saint Michael the Archangel Festival brought Galugnano, a village in San Donato di Lecce, to life at the end of September. On Saturday, September 27th, the village streets were transformed into a large circus village with a traveling show featuring acrobats, clowns, magicians, and fire-eaters, along with stargazing curated by the Gruppo Astrofili del Salento. The festivities continued with religious celebrations, the procession, and traditional illuminations.

2025 Edition

The 2025 Saint Michael the Archangel Festival in Galugnano (San Donato di Lecce) offered a program dedicated to both adults and children. Saturday, September 27, 2025, starting at 8:00 PM, the streets of the village were transformed into an open-air "CIRCUS": a traveling show with acrobats, clowns, magicians, fire-eaters, and a toy village engaged families and children, while the Gruppo Astrofili del Salento guided the observation of the constellations.

During the days of the patronal feast, around the liturgical date of September 29th, there were also religious celebrations, the procession with the saint's statue, and the traditional luminarie that illuminated the village. The organization was handled by the Patronal Feast Committee of Galugnano.

Programme

  • Saturday, September 27, 8:00 PM — "CIRCUS": traveling show through the streets of Galugnano with acrobats, clowns, magicians, fire-eaters, and a toy village; astronomical observation with the Gruppo Astrofili del Salento.
  • September 28 - 29 — Religious celebrations in honor of Saint Michael the Archangel, procession, and illuminations in the center of the village.
