Edition 2025 — Saint Maurus Festival
In 2025, Gessate also celebrated its patron saint Saint Maurus Abbot on January 15th, with the Saint Maurus Fair in Via Badia, stalls selling sweets, and firun (chestnut necklaces), in a winter festival deeply felt in the Milanese Martesana.
In 2025, the Saint Maurus Festival renewed the devotion to the patron saint Saint Maurus Abbot in Gessate. The Saint Maurus Fair along Via Badia offered stalls selling sweets and the traditional firun, chestnut necklaces on the church steps, on a January day that combines faith and popular traditions in the Martesana, on the outskirts of Milan.
