Edition 2025 — Saint Mary Magdalene Feast

In 2025, Capranica Prenestina celebrated its patron saint, Saint Mary Magdalene, on July 22nd, according to the usual tradition of the patronal feast. The day, the heart of the summer in the Prenestini Mountains village, was marked by a solemn Mass in the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene and a procession through the streets of the historic center, with the participation of the community and the faithful: an appointment of faith and identity that gathers the town around its patron saint every year.

The 2025 patronal feast

On July 22, 2025, Capranica Prenestina, a village in the Prenestini Mountains in the Metropolitan City of Rome, renewed its devotion to its patron saint, Saint Mary Magdalene. The feast, as per tradition, was structured around the solemn Mass and the procession that crosses the alleys of the historic center, bringing the community back to the heart of its religious and cultural identity.

The Church of Saint Mary Magdalene, with its famous 16th-century dome inspired by Bramante, provided the backdrop for the celebrations. The 2025 edition represented the last chapter of the feast before the important novelty of 2026: the establishment of the Palio della Maddalena.
