Saint Mary Magdalene Fair

The 2025 edition of the Saint Mary Magdalene Fair was held in Castiglione d'Otranto, a village of Andrano, from July 20 to 22, with its traditional culmination on the saint's feast day. The event showcased the grain market and the Sagra de Lu Taraddhru, with the free distribution of barley taralli, alongside a market of zero-mile products.

Significant space was dedicated to biodiversity: pomological exhibitions of rare fruits, workshops on grafting and beekeeping, and meetings promoted by the Casa delle Agricolture Tullia e Gino on reclaiming uncultivated land and sustainable agriculture. The evenings were enlivened by pizzica and traditional Salento songs, confirming the fair as a key identity-building moment for the entire community of Andrano and lower Salento.
