Edition 2025 — San Martino Palazzo Adriano
In 2025, Palazzo Adriano once again celebrated its Saint Martin's Festival on November 11th, the Arbëreshë festival of family and solidarity that makes it unique in Sicily. The protagonists were the village's newlyweds, honored according to the ritual where the community contributes to the establishment of their new home.
In the morning, children paraded through the town streets carrying sammartini baskets, adorned with embroidered tablecloths and flowers, and filled with dried figs, chestnuts, Saint Martin's buns, buccellato, and marzipan fruit. The traditional pitta, the circular bread symbolizing good wishes, was presented to the newlyweds. In the afternoon, relatives and friends visited the homes of the celebrants to admire the displayed sammartini.
Surrounding the main ritual were guided tours, tastings of local products, free access to Arbëreshë museums, and excursions to the Reserve and the Pietra di Salomone, with the involvement of local associations and institutional patronage.
