Edition 2025 — Saint Martin's Day Festival

On November 11, 2025, the San Martino district of Gubbio celebrated Saint Martin's Day with the historic Greased Pole in Piazza Giordano Bruno. Amidst chestnuts, wine, and the challenge on the greased pole, the team 'I Matti di Gubbio' took home the victory. A festival of identity that brought the district's community together.

In 2025, the Saint Martin's Day Festival renewed the tradition of the Greased Pole in Piazza Giordano Bruno, in the San Martino district of Gubbio. The evening of November 11th saw the usual distribution of chestnuts and wine, followed by the competition of teams attempting to climb the greased pole to win the capon at the top.

The team 'I Matti di Gubbio' emerged victorious, to the delight of the numerous attendees. A festival described as 'of identity' by the organizers, capable of bringing together the district's community in one of the city's most beloved folk traditions, in the province of Perugia.
