Saint Mark the Evangelist Festival - Santu Marcu Picciccu

2025 Edition

The 2025 Saint Mark Festival in Cellino San Marco was celebrated on April 24th and 25th in an atmosphere of reflection, marked by the death of Pope Francis on April 21, 2025. Mayor Marco Marra and parish priest Father Angelo Amico chose to modify the civic program: the fireworks display and the final concert were suspended, while the religious rites, the market fair, the brass band concert, and the children's rides remained confirmed to ensure moments of normalcy for the community.

During the liturgical days, a special thought was dedicated to the Pontiff through prayer. That edition also saw the debut of the Bampata, the gastronomic event dedicated to the traditional Salento puccia, which has since become a permanent fixture of the festival program.
