Edition 2025 — Saint Leonard Thanksgiving Mascali
2025 Edition
The 2025 Saint Leonard Thanksgiving Day was celebrated in Mascali on February 5th, in the heart of the Metropolitan City of Catania. In memory of the two miraculous events of 1693 and 1865, the recurrence saw the community gather around the statue of the patron saint. The day was opened by the pilgrimage of the reliquary arm and the novena of preparation, culminating in the solemn mass presided over by the clergy of the Ancient County of Mascali, the Cantata in honor of the saint, and the procession of the float through the town streets, greeted by fireworks. Upon returning to the Mother Church, the archpriest imparted the blessing with the relics. A celebration deeply rooted in the Etnean popular tradition and inscribed among the intangible heritages of Sicily.
