Saint Lawrence Patronal Feast

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Lawrence in Grosseto, the first patronal celebration led by Bishop Bernardino Giordano, was held on August 9th and 10th.

On the evening of August 9th, the procession departed from the Cathedral, passing through Piazza Dante, Via Ricasoli, Porta Vecchia, and the streets of the historic center, with the saint's statue on the cart pulled by Maremma oxen Tiburzi and Fioravanti, and the butteri coordinated by Marco Guerri. On August 10th, the pontifical mass was held in the Cathedral with the offering of the votive candle, followed in the evening by the Saint Lawrence concert in Piazza Dante and the presentation of the Grifone d'Oro to entrepreneur Federico Guidarelli.
