Edition 2025 — Saint Lawrence

On August 10, 2025, Morro Reatino renewed its devotion to its patron saint, Saint Lawrence the Martyr, with the usual fixed-date festival. As every year, the medieval village in the province of Rieti gathered around the 17th-century parish church for the solemn Mass and the procession along the alleys of the historic center, in a day that marks the opening of the August festivities and calls back to the village the families originally from Morro who returned for the summer.

The 2025 edition

The Saint Lawrence Festival 2025 was held on Sunday, August 10th, in Morro Reatino, Lazio, according to the liturgical calendar that has always set this date for the memory of the martyr. The celebrations took place in the parish church of Saint Lawrence the Martyr, which houses the 1638 portal and the 15th-century processional cross, and continued with the procession through the village.

In 2025, the patronal feast once again opened the cycle of the village's summer events, which includes the Pizzola Festival and, on the last Sunday of the month, the feast of the Madonna della Torricella. The recurrence coincides with the night of Saint Lawrence, an opportunity for many visitors to stop in the village to watch the shooting stars.
