Saint Joseph Summer Festival (July)

The 2025 Saint Joseph Summer Festival in Riesi was celebrated on Sunday, July 27, following the usual schedule of the last Sunday of July. From the morning, the firing of 19 firecrackers and the sound of bells announced the day of celebration to the Riesi community.

In the evening, authorities, the festival committee, and the bearers set off from the Mother Church of Maria SS. della Catena to reach the Church of Saint Joseph, from where the statue of the Saint emerged for the procession back to the Mother Church. After the homage to the Madonna della Catena, patron saint of Riesi, the solemn Mass and the procession through the city streets were held, featuring the act of entrusting the city to the Saint and the traditional fireworks display to close the festivities.
