The patron saint's feast of Filighera

Saint Joseph is the patron saint of Filighera, a municipality in the province of Pavia, in the heart of the Lombard plain. His feast, celebrated around March 19th, coincides with the arrival of spring and has always been one of the most cherished events in the village, where the religious and popular dimensions intertwine.

The fair in the village streets

The civil heart of the feast is the fair, with the market invading the streets of the center, including Via Cairoli. Hobbyists, creatives, artisans, merchants, and direct producers set up their stalls, while the street food area offers dishes and specialties to enjoy along the stalls. It is the classic Lombard village fair, organized by the Municipality in collaboration with the Pro Loco and the Magico Angolo degli Hobbisti group.

Entertainment and tradition

The day is also designed for families and children, with entertainment such as face painting, inflatables, puppet shows, soap bubbles, workshops, and games. The religious dimension is not lacking, with a procession and the participation of the band, accompanying the devotion to the patron saint according to the customs of the patronal feasts of the area.

A community feast

The Saint Joseph's Fair and Festival is above all a gathering moment for the community of Filighera and the neighboring villages of the Oltrepò and the Pavia plain. An opportunity to rediscover the conviviality of rural tradition and to welcome spring in the name of the patron saint.
