Saint Joseph Festival

The 2025 Saint Joseph Festival in Scordia took place on March 18th and 19th according to the established ritual. The vigil on March 18th featured the afternoon auction of gifts offered by devotees, the offertory procession, and, in the evening, the exit of the Saint Joseph float with concluding fireworks.

On March 19th, the main day, the morning opened with the sound of firecrackers, the parade of caparisoned horses, and the procession of the three individuals embodying the Holy Family, accompanied by a brass band to the Church of Saint Joseph. The traditional Saint Joseph lunch and the washing of the feet of the Baby Jesus were held on the parvis; in the afternoon, the auction continued with the sale of typical sweets and caciocavallo cheese. In the evening, after the solemn mass, the wooden statue of the saint was paraded through the parish streets, greeted by the cry "Viva San Giuseppe!".
