Saint Joseph Festival (Patron Saint)

The 2025 edition of the Saint Joseph Festival in Santa Maria di Licodia was celebrated from Saturday, August 30th, to Monday, September 1st, 2025, under the guidance of the new committee chaired by Giuseppe D'Olica, with Mayor Giovanni Buttò and the spiritual direction of Father Giuseppe Milazzo.

Among the innovations that year: the Eucharistic celebration was moved from the sacristy of the Church of the Consolation to Piazza Umberto I, and the evocative 'cchianata de Caseddi' race was moved from the morning to the Sunday afternoon to reduce heat-related risks and encourage the participation of the bearers. On Saturday, the 'Svelata' of the wooden statue was renewed; on Sunday, the procession with the 18th-century fercolo and the blessing of the children; on Monday, the long evening procession through the districts with the 'Calata dell'Angelo', the auction of votive offerings, and the final fireworks display, accompanied by the G. Pacini Band.
