Saint Joseph Festival — 'A Rètina and 'A Scalunata

The 2025 edition of the Saint Joseph Festival in Caccamo confirmed the community's attachment to rituals passed down through generations. On the Sundays preceding March 19th, 'A Rètina—the mule-back collection of wheat, fava beans, and chickpeas—and 'A Scalunata—the arrangement of the candle-lit staircase at the high altar of the Church of Maria SS. Annunziata, at the feet of the wooden statues of Saint Joseph and the Child—took place.

On March 19th, Eucharistic celebrations, the distribution of blessed bread, and the evening procession gathered worshippers and visitors in the heart of the medieval village of the Madonie.
