Edition 2025 — Saint John Festival

On June 24, 2025, the community of the San Giovanni Battista parish in Lucera celebrated its patron saint by launching the first edition of the Saint John Festival. Alongside the religious moments — masses, the Holy Rosary, and the procession through the neighborhood streets — the feast opened up to a convivial dimension in Piazza San Giovanni Battista, laying the foundations for a summer event destined to be renewed in the following years.

The 2025 edition marked the debut of the Saint John Festival in Lucera, alongside the traditional feast of the patron saint of the San Giovanni Battista parish. On June 24th, the liturgical feast of the Nativity of the Forerunner, the neighborhood community gathered for a day marked by religious celebrations and concluded with a moment of gathering in Piazza San Giovanni Battista.

The first Festival aimed to strengthen the bonds between citizens and the parish, combining popular devotion with the pleasure of being together, following the ancient traditions linked to the summer solstice. The success of this edition paved the way for the return of the event in 2026.
