Edition 2025 — Saint James Festival

In July 2025, Collesano renewed the Saint James Festival, with a solemn Eucharistic celebration in honor of the saintly apostle and the traditional Sausage Festival. In the historic center of the Madonie village, locals and visitors gathered to enjoy grilled sausage, fried vastedde, and fresh watermelon, in a typically Sicilian atmosphere of devotion and conviviality.

Saint James Festival 2025

In the summer of 2025, the community of Collesano once again gathered around the cult of Saint James the Apostle, renewing a tradition that the Madonie village has been passing down since 1530. The solemn Eucharistic celebration at the Church of Saint James drew attention to the ancient Gothic-Catalan portal and the wooden statue of the saint.

At the end of the religious services, the streets of the historic center hosted the traditional Sausage Festival: grilled sausage, vastedde fritte, and fresh slices of anguria accompanied an evening of popular celebration, filled with scents, music, and the warm hospitality of a village that guards the authentic Sicily of the hinterland.
