Saint Ignatius Festival 2025 in Piedimonte Etneo

The 2025 edition of the solemn festivities in honor of Saint Ignatius of Loyola took place in Piedimonte Etneo, in the Catania area, on July 31, 2025, as part of the city's 'Under the Volcano' summer calendar. As per tradition, the statue of the patron saint was carried in procession through the streets of the center, accompanied by a brass band and showers of confetti, amidst festive lights and stalls, returning to the Mother Church late in the evening. The day concluded with traditional fireworks. The festivities continued on the first Sunday of August, confirming the patronal event as a central moment of the Piedimonte summer, blending devotion, folk tradition, and food festivals featuring Etna products.
