Edition 2025 — Saint George Festival

In 2025, Bagnolo del Salento celebrated its patron saint, Saint George the Martyr, with the usual double appointment: religious rites on April 23 and civil festivities in early August. The community gathered around the procession, the illuminations, and the music, in one of the most heartfelt festivals of the Grecìa Salentina, blending popular devotion and summer conviviality.

The 2025 edition of the Saint George the Martyr Festival renewed the tradition of the patron saint in Bagnolo del Salento, in the province of Lecce. On April 23, 2025, religious rites took place in the church dedicated to the Saint, while in early August, the town experienced civil festivities with a procession, illuminations, market stalls, and evening concerts in the square.

As per tradition, the summer festival also drew many Bagnolo emigrants back to the village, confirming the role of this celebration as a moment of identity and community in the heart of the Grecìa Salentina.
