Saint Fortunata Festival

The 235th edition of the Saint Fortunata Festival in Baucina (Metropolitan City of Palermo) took place from September 6 to 21, 2025. The festival opened on Saturday, September 6, with the inauguration of a new small square with a votive shrine, Holy Mass, and a torchlight procession from the Acquafico district.

During the Octave days, pop music shows followed one another. On Friday, September 12, the Chanting of the First Solemn Vespers and the enthronement of the urn on the float preceded the highlight of the festivities: Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14, at 8:30 PM, the solemn procession of the Sacred Body of Saint Fortunata in the golden urn, with the historical pageant of participants in Roman-era costumes and the traditional flight of the angels.

On Monday, September 15, the Zero Assoluto concert in Piazza San Marco and the fireworks display in the Passo di Piedi district took place. Among the folklore events, the tammurinari of Aspra and various brass bands performed. On Sunday, September 21, with the Eucharistic thanksgiving celebration, the return of the urn, the sausage festival, and the lottery draw, the festivities concluded.
