Edition 2025 — Saint Erasmus in Capaci

In 2025, Capaci once again celebrated its patron saint, Saint Erasmus, with the traditional festival in early June. The community gathered around the Mother Church for religious rites and the most folkloric moments of the day, from the drum parade that awakens the town to the parade of Sicilian carts, and the solemn procession of the saint's wooden statue through the town center.

The 2025 edition of the Saint Erasmus Patronal Feast took place in Capaci, in the province of Palermo, following the established tradition that has accompanied the community's devotion to its patron saint for centuries.

As per custom, the day of celebration alternated between sacred and popular moments: the morning drum parade with drummers through the town streets, the passage of Sicilian carts pulled by richly caparisoned horses in the afternoon, the solemn mass in the Mother Church, and the procession of the wooden statue of Saint Erasmus, created by the Gagini workshop. A festival that, even in 2025, confirmed the strong identity bond between Capaci and its patron saint, recognized by the Registry of Intangible Heritage of Sicily.
